The Peacock - Lake View Cafe & Restaurant in Udaipur

Wonderful food. The best we have had in India. Fantastic views over the lake. A friendly unprepossesing restaurant. Easy to miss but I'm so glad we climbed up to it. Five stars and well deserved.

Absolutely loved our experience! The view of Lake Pichola was simply breathtaking — one of the highlights of our lunch date. The food was excellent, with authentic Rajasthani flavours that truly stood out. Every meal felt homely and comforting, a rare combination in a hotel setting. A special mention to the superb staff, who were warm, attentive, and made us feel right at home. Highly recommend!

My family and i had a very pleasant experience at The Peacock - we had to come back several nights. The place can be a little hard to find, but after some stairs a beautiful rooftop with a stunning view over the city and lake and the most friendly staff awaits. I recommend watching the sunset from there! The butter chicken is amazing!

We visited for lunch and were absolutely blown away! 10/10 for the food — rich, authentic Rajasthani flavours that felt both indulgent and homely. The view of Lake Pichola made the experience even more special. And the staff were superb — warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. My favourite meal in Udaipur!! The setting was just perfect - high up with a fabulous view of the lake and the sunset, surrounded by other rooftop cafes and bars (lots of opportunity for people watching). The owner made us feel so welcome and at home - we sat here for hours! The food was delicious, all freshly prepared - really hit the spot. We'll definitely be back next time we're in Udaipur! We then met Roshi's father and mother - both so so lovely. Thank you all for such a lovely evening. Would love to stay here when we're next in Udaipur and do the cooking class!

We loved it here at the peacock restaurant!! The staff were so lovely and approachable. The food was delicious, we just had a starter with our beers but it was proper home cooked food, taste and price were great. And the view is stunning! The owner took some sneaky photos of us enjoying the sunset and sent them to us afterward- thanks so much we love them :) definitely recommend!
